Village Knockout Info

We made it through to the regional semi finals after beating Dalton on the Green. We faced Woodhouses, a highly regarded team from Manchester. It was a fantasic day with ourselves taking a 35 seater coach to Woodhouses. Woodhouses won the toss and elected to bat, and reaches 283 off their 40 overs. This was largely down to Doug Sloan who hit a magnificent 89 not out off 29 balls.

However, we knew we could chase down this total as we had made 299-3 last year in the knockout in Skegness. Tim Phillips hit an excellent hundred, and Simon James 72, but unfortunately we fell 24 runs short, as we reached 260 all out.

It was a great game of cricket, on a beautiful day and with a wonderful atmosphere provided by the Woodhouses CC crowd.

Wrea Green CC would also like to congratulate WCC on their Centenary and wish them the best of luck for the season.
