Situated half way between Blackpool and Preston in Lancashire, Wrea Green is the architypal English village with a large green as its centre, complete with a duck pond in one corner, that is overlooked by the school, pub, church, and shop. The cricket club was founded in 1905 and has played on the village green ever since. In 1922 we joined the Palace Shield Competition and currently have three senior sides in that league. We have also entered the National Village Cup since its inception in 1972 and reached the National Quarter Finals in 2007. Juniors are well catered for and we now have sides from Under 10s through to Under 17s with coaching sessions for boys and girls aged 6-17. Wrea Green was awarded Clubmark status by the ECB in 2009.
From Junction 3 of the M55 take the A585 towards Kirkham. At the first roundabout take the second exit to remain on the A585. Go straight on at the next roundabout which is next to the Kingfisher pub. At the next roundabout take the second exit which is the B5259 for Wrea Green and Lytham. This takes you past Ribby Hall Leisure Village on the left and into Wrea Green. The Green is in the centre of the village, overlooked by The Grapes pub. Changing facilities for players are in an upstairs room at The Grapes whilst drinking facilities for spectators are downstairs.
Nearest railway station is Kirkham & Wesham whilst the 75 and 76 Fylde Villager bus services pass through the village.
